Installing and configuring View Security Server for External Clients

View security server exists to connect external clients to internal virtual desktops

  • View security server is not a member of your internal domain
  • Pairing is handled via a one-time "paring password"
  • Firewall needs to be configured

Configure a security server paring password

Set the paring password with the View Connection server.











Install view security server














Secure the external server running the security server.







Specify the View Connection server to establish a connection with.








Enter the paring password









Supply the External URL












In the External URL text box, type the external URL of the Security Server for View Clients that use the RDP or PCoIP display protocols.Note: The URL must contain the protocol, externally resolvable Security Server name or IP address, and port number. Tunneled clients that run outside of your network use this URL to connect to the Security Server.

In the PCoIP External URL text box, type the external URL of the Security Server for View Clients that use the PCoIP display protocol. Specify the PCoIP external URL as an IP address with the port number 4172.  Do not include a protocol name.
Note: The URL must contain the IP address and port number that a client system can use to reach the Security Server.  You can type into the text box only if a PCoIP Secure Gateway is installed on the Security Server.
